- NOPNA funds and organizes street cleaning teams for our sidewalks and streets. And it is well known that a neighborhood that looks clean and is graffiti free is a more enjoyable and safe place to live.
- NOPNA has an active safety committee that works with our local police on neighborhood issues and educates neighbors on how to ensure our environment remains a safe and pleasant place to live.
- NOPNA hosts neighborhood general meetings where you can meet your neighbors, build a sense of community, and have your voice heard on issues that directly affect you.
- NOPNA gives you a voice at City Hall by getting our local leaders to attend our general meetings.
- NOPNA publishes a neighborhood newsletter that is read by over 5,000 people in our area and debates immediate issues affecting our area, such as new development, safety, and neighborhood events.
- NOPNA funds and organizes a parent’s group for families so you can find other families in the area and playdates for your children. Contact Ralph Lewin to get signed up to the Yahoo group.

History
NOPNA was started in 1991 as a response to drug-related crime in the neighborhood. The "Respect the Neighborhood" campaign was founded as a response to drug activity in the area at the time but has evolved to represent more than just a battle against crime; it is a mantra that means we want a clean and safe environment where every neighbor is respected and included in our community.
NOPNA Board members receive no compensation other than the neighborly goodwill. All programs and projects are initiated and maintained by volunteers who are passionate about creating a community that cares about each other.
Please contact the NOPNA Board with your comments and questions regarding any neighborhood issue.
NOPNA is a member organization of SF 5 Together, a coalition of San Francisco Neighborhood Groups in District 5.
