NOPA family fun!

The North Panhandle neighborhood is an incredible place for families, boasting several playgrounds within walking distance, family friendly shops and restaurants, great schools and pre-schools in the area, and an ever growing number of families with children who are looking to get involved and build community in the area.

Many parents get to know one another just by chatting in playgrounds, laundromats, coffee shops, and other daily life activities. But to strengthen those ties, NOPNA sponsors and/or facilitates many activities that bring families together to get to know one another and strengthen our ties as parents and build a warm and friendly community, and a sense of belonging for both parents and children. Below are NOPNA activities for Parents as well as ways new families can participate!

NoPa Little Ones

NoPa little ones is a playgroup specifically for families with children newborn to five years old. NoPa little ones is part of a Parent Action Grant funded by City of San Francisco’s First 5 initiative. This grant has given our group $3000 to fund really fun playgroups, meaning fun for the little ones and our parents. The money will help pay for food (and COFFEE) at our playgroups, printing costs for outreach, supplies such as bubbles, balloons, and sidewalk chalk, and facilitators for special activities like a baby/toddler yoga or dance session. It also funds snacks and even childcare for planning meetings.

The goal of NoPa little ones is to create a fun and easy way to parents and their kids to really get to know one another, talk, share ideas, and generally take advantage of the growing community of families and great opportunities in our amazing little neighborhood.

NoPa little ones meets on the SECOND SUNDAY of every month from 10a.m. – Noon.
